We are a youth-led organization dedicated to making a difference in our community. Backed by Optimist International, Waterloo JOI empowers young leaders (ages 10-18) to build confidence, spread kindness and create positive change. Whether we’re organizing fundraisers, running community events or lending a helping hand, we believe in the power of youth to lead with optimism and purpose. Join us for fun, friendship and impact. Our Executive Team is made up of passionate, energetic youth leaders who help guide our club throughout the year. From planning events and running meetings to representing our club in the community, these members work hard to bring JOI to life for everyone involved.

Each year, at the end of the JOI year (which aligns with the school year), a new executive team is elected by club members to take over in September. This gives everyone a chance to lead, grow and share new ideas!

Our Junior Optimist Club is lucky to have dedicated advisors who offer their time, wisdom and encouragement - helping us stay organized and safe. Whether they’re helping plan events, answering questions or just being there when we need them, we couldn’t do this without them.
